• “In 2024, the UK aluminium systems market contracted for the second year running. The decline in the private housing sector continued for a successive year, impacting the Trade & Retail sector. In addition, the introduction of the Building Safety Act had an even greater impact on the commercial projects sector. The new Building Safety Act gateway process resulted in significant delays to project starts during 2024 and the market continues to experience these delays in 2025. Given the above headwinds, Reynaers Aluminium sales dropped 16% in 2024. Despite overheads continuing to be managed prudently, the aforementioned market pressures on sales turnover had an impact on operating profit, which reduced by 14% compared with 2023.”
