Each % is (latest − prior) ÷ |prior| for the line item as filed. The comparison is only shown when the latest and prior accounts cover broadly equal-length periods — short or long stubs (typical around incorporation or a year-end change) are suppressed rather than misrepresented. Lines a company doesn't report are omitted. About these numbers

- Going concern
- Affirmed
“In auditing the financial statements, we have concluded that the directors' use of the going concern basis of accounting in the preparation of the financial statements is appropriate. Based on the work we have performed, we have not identified any material uncertainties relating to events or conditions that, individually or collectively, may cast significant doubt on the company's ability to continue as a going concern for a period of at least twelve months from when the financial statements are authorised for issue.”
Significant events
- “2024 marked a year of transition and retrenchment. The government's announcement in the July 2023 that the two-staircase requirement for new residential buildings would be implemented at a threshold of 18 meters, not 30 meters, caused an unprecedented shift in secured revenue as our clients halted project starts to assess the impact of the measures on their production pipeline.”
- “As a result, a significant number of new projects were delayed by six to nine months deferring some £30m of secured work into H2 2024 and 2025.”
- “The slowdown in work allowed the company to give pause to its future strategy and to align its cost base accordingly. As a result, the company stripped away a senior management cadre, invested heavily into its commercial and training functions and devolved greater responsibility down our management chains. The results of this have been positive with administrative expenses, excluding depreciation, decreasing 7% in relative terms and project returns increasing 5% in real terms from H1 to H2 2024.”
- “Despite the shift in workload, revenue reached a record £87.2m (£79.8m in 2023), which is the fifth successive year of growth. The company finished the year strongly cash generative, allowing further investment in our scaffold business from cash reserves and ending the year with cash in hand of £2m.”
- “Profit before tax was £3.57m (£2.85m 2023) with the retained profit increasing to £8.07m (£5.4m 2023). Our secured orderbook reached £135m (£114m 2023) at year end with visibility of a further £40m of work to be secured in Q1 2025.”
- “The company has now been approved to deliver Level 2 and Level 3 Brickwork apprenticeships which will enable us to expand our apprenticeship programme further and not just benefit us but the wider industry as well.”
