Significant events

• “Total revenue for the period was £20.3m (2023: £27.4m). The decline of 35% is largely attributable to the loss of the largest customer, and a decline across a number of other key customers as the economy slowed in key trading countries (UK & USA) linked somewhat to elections. This has been partially offset by increases in other existing customers and some new customer acquisitions and partnerships. The group made a loss for the period of (£0.1m) (2023, profit of £2.2m), this is largely attributable to restructuring costs of £1.8m, which included beginning the closure of the India operations, in addition inflationary pressure on the cost base could not be aligned with customer rates and reduced gross margins. The company has rebased itself to be a much leaner, more efficient organisation, to ensure focus remains on excellent engineering services, supported by a customer focused team. During the year the group reduced the external long term facility from £8.2m to £5.2m (a revolving credit facility that was established in 2022). The group also made payments of the deferred consideration to the founders of the company as part of the Employee Ownership trust transaction.”
