- “On 6 May ISBA announced its intention to merge formally with the Association of Governing Bodies of Independent Schools (AGBIS) in order to respond more effectively to the evolving needs of member schools and wider sectoral pressures across the whole remit of business and governance in independent schools. The merger is subject to detailed due diligence and contract, but both organisations consider this to offer a constructive response to the changes in the sector, with advantages both for the associations and for their member schools. It is intended that the assets and liabilities of AGBIS be transferred into ISBA, and that the operations of both organisations will be conducted in the merged entity from 1 January 2027.”
