“The group continues to trade successfully with a pre-tax profit of £995,424 (2024: £1,027,782), a final cash balance of £2,712,177 (2024: £2,562,913) and a group net current asset position of £2,666,389 (2024: £2,369,291). The majority of income continues to be derived from NHS contracts which have recently been extended for a 2 year period running to 31 March 2028. Private patient income versus NHS contract income has remained steady at 5% (2024: 5%). The group is making repayments on the existing £1m loan from Big Issue Invest and with a cash balance of £2.7m at 31 March 2025 and the loan balance due as at 31 March 2025 down to £389k, the directors do not consider this borrowing to present a cash flow risk. For the reasons above, the directors have been able to satisfy themselves that the company and group are a going concern.”

• “In 2024/25, Smile Together continued to deliver on our purpose as a leading employee-owned Community Interest Company and certified B Corporation, dedicated to tackling oral health inequality and improving access to dentistry across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Building on the resilience measures introduced in previous years, we sustained delivery of dental services in the face of national dental workforce shortages, financial pressures, and ongoing contract uncertainty. Our operations spanned six dental locations, supplemented by targeted outreach programmes such as school-based prevention campaigns. These initiatives provided vital support to rural and underserved populations, aligning with local health priorities and our social mission. In addition, we continued to deliver the oral health promotion and prevention contract awarded by Cornwall Council in late 2023, embedding stronger preventative pathways to reduce health inequalities.”
